Hello all

Having read about the Hola plugin on this site a few times, I have tried it and it seems to have installed correctly, but I am unsure if it is actually working properly. I am guessing it will now allow me to watch a load of the YouTube videos, which for me are currently blocked (in Germany) by Sony Copyright on music audio tracks that people put on their ride reports, etc. Also the BBC World Website looks different when Hola is activated.

I was curious if it would allow me to watch BBC iPlayer, etc. if I set the Hola conditions to the UK. However this does not work. If I was in the UK, would I be able to watch BBC iPlayer without restriction and without Hola, etc. or do you still need a subscription? I should have tested this the last time I was over in the UK.

Or is it that Hola needs to be pointed at an alternative server in the UK, etc? I have Hola installed on my iPad and on Firefox on my PC.

Thanks for any clarification.

In the UK you can watch iplayer without restriction or even registration. No subscription is required.

I'm not familiar with Hola but TunnelBear got me all of the uk stuff incl BBC when I was in Portugal recently.

Hola and iPlayer work very nicely together in my experience with Firefox, Safari and Chrome on a Mac.

Hello

Thanks very much for your three helpful replies. Looks like I may need to look at an alternative server for the BBC iPlayer. Don't really want to subscribe at €6/month because I don't think I would watch more than one or two programmes/month.

Will also look at TunnelBear - thanks Dahoum.

Does anyone know if it is possible to load Firefox onto an Apple iPad/iPhone? I don't see an app in the Apple store for Firefox and that is my preferred browser.

Thanks once again
