Thanks for that, I'd not seen any reports of weaving previously, so in a way I'm glad it's not something just in my head. The slight weave through the bars when crossing from one lane to the next on a dual carriageway isn't entirely comforting, but it definitely got better today after I inadvertently dropped the front tyre pressure by a couple of PSI. With the promise of decent longevity, the problem isn't bad enough for me to bin the TKC70s now, and most reports I've now found suggest the problem reduces after a few hundred miles, so I'll wait and see how they improve...[hijack over!]

My TKC-70s arrived in 6 days from TyreLeader with Easter between ordering and delivery. So I was happy and kept up to date by the parcel tracking service.
The knife edge steering was a surprise but the fitter had set pressures above 50 psi. They are now 34/40 and I love the handling. I also had no weave on my local private road and they laugh at gravel over tarmac. So for me they are just what I wanted.
They make the bike feel more nimble dont tramline on grooved road repairs. They don't complain when I go down the side of a speed hump and catch one side on the hump edge.
They STOP hard when needed. I had a moment's brain fade but they saved me. I'm sure the old front tyre (stepped but far from illegal) would have caused an insurance claim.
Ive not managed to provoke a weave at speed. They are speed rated to 118 mph so not exactly track day material.

Well off the back of this thread I have ordered a pair of TKC80's. Fekking cheap. I'm not in a hurry, so don't mind waiting as current TKCs on bike not worn out yet. Have had my order confirmation email straight away, plus they are in stock.

Front £71.89 / Rear £93.69 inc VAT and delivery. I normally pay about £120 for a TKC80 rear, so at a 22% discount its a fekkin bargin. If they turn up. But who cares as I paid by credit card so am covered regardless.

WindyChuffer how much off road do you do, and what type, as you run the TKC80s? Im interested as they look pretty rubbish for on road and wont be high milage.

Wheelhouse Tyres and Michelin Offer

Fancied a pair of Michelin P 4s and needed them pretty quickly. As I live reasonably close too Wheelhouse Tyres, Coleshill, Birmingham and used them before went for a ride in ride out deal.

£247 all in, OK pretty steep but Michelin currently have an offer on and you can claim £35 back as long as you use an approved? dealer.

So total price works out at £212 for a ride in ride out service.

Didn't think this was was bad so just thought I'd post so a comparison can be made against supply only. Its just for information.

I placed 2 orders, one for a front & one for a rear, but what I wasn't told by Tyreleader, was that they would only use one of the 2 order numbers to dispatch against, so it appeared that they were only sending 1 tyre!!!!

I'd use them again now that I understand how they operate...or I might use Openeo next time round.

They have a .co.uk website, but the orders are sent to a head office in Germany, but the dispatch details were from a warehouse just outside Paris.

Yes I do a fair bit of off road so that's why I have TKC80s. Plus they look bling bling.

With Hexhead I had two sets of wheels but ended up running with the knobblies the whole time - lazy.

There is nothing wrong with TKC80s on the road; they feel weird at first but you get used to them even in the wet. Fast twisties in Pyrenees mountain roads are a lot of fun on these tyres which don't hamper progress.

You will toast a TKC80 rear in 1,500 miles with spirited riding on the WC. A front lasts me about 4,000 miles.

Try a pair is all I can say!

Ironically I had an email from them this morning informing me of the tracking information for my tyres ........ Which ARRIVED yesterday and are already on the bike!

I'd summarise them as a company trying to do the right thing but not quite having their shit together, I dar say as they get bigger and more organised (more manpower) then the prices will start to creep up to cover the expanding overheads.

The rear turned up the morning after the front was delivered - just after I'd sent another webmail to chase it up. I finally got an email with a tracking link later that day!

A few minutes ago I placed an order for a pair of Heidi K60 Scouts with them.......entered CC details, confirmed it with the CC popup screen that needed more info, but after that it f#dropped me straight back into the Tyreleader cart screen, asking for me to pay and confirm

At that stage, I closed it down, and although I haven't had an order confirmation, I did just get an 'account setup successfully' email.

Will report back if it goes anywhere.......I hope it works, as £146 for a pair of Scouts is better value than anywhere other than the local Catholic priest, allegedly

I've just gone back screen by screen and have shots of the confirmed order, yet the two tyres (saved in my cart a week ago) still appear.

Looks to me like bad design in the back-end of their website and cart system.....I've had that many times in an online shop that I built, but I did it in invisible testing.....still, it's easy to leave one box unticked in an admin system and it all goes tits up

I'll send an email tomorrow to see if they can confirm the order, and again, I'll keep this updated......I'm glad I did the order through a credit card rather than paypal though, so to LiquidLan for the heads up

I have done 2.500 miles on mine they re as good as new. Agree about running them around 34-/40, 32/38 they seem less prone to weave. Running at BMW pressure on the M25 caused weave on the road surface at times. They seem fine at 120 but in the real world they are happy as hell at 90 mph on the M4 mile after mile. Off road and shitty surfaces, especially in the wet, they are outstanding and the right side of my right boot is wearing out (on roundabouts) and I am NOT a riding god by any means. I will buy them again. But drop those pressures a bit.

I tried to raise a 'customer ticket' to enquire about if my order had actually been placed, but it won't allow you to do so without an order having been placed

I just went back in and completed the process again......their system knew my account details (delivery, billing address etc) and looking back on my emails, all I've had from them was a confirmation of account setup.

This time, it went through immediately and within 10 seconds I had an email conforming my order. (a seperate one for each tyre, but hey ho)

It feels like just a poorly designed or improperly functioning shop back-end to me, and hopefully my really well priced Heidi Scouts will appear soon, and only be billed once

Nice looking tyres too.......enough tread depth that I reckon I could ride over a small child and fit them into the gaps safely
