I`ve just got home from a night shift and there`s a mega strong wind blowing...gusting in fact.

Be careful out there everyone.

There`s a fair bit of airborne debris about and even in town the cars are being swayed by the wind.

Be very very careful on motorways or bridges.

I had the comedy experience of having such a strong tailwind that the Ural sidecar windshield was actually moving FORWARDS while I was in motion

It's been blowy during the night here (Nottingham) but is just starting to pick up proper now. Bits of tree blowing down the road.

well next door tree is over, after all it's in a plant pot
the was a milk bottle blowen over too on the other side of the street..
plus it was rather windy under my bed sheets due to the curry i had yestaerday

now i'm off to drive into liverpool one does hope the wind dies down just a little or while i'm sitting for the interview it may get smelly

It wasn't much fun on the M4 to Bath this morning. Still, mustn't grumble, it could have been raining too.

Thelwall viaduct closed both ways owing to blown over vehicles, Barton closed to high sided vehicles (well, those that can/want to read the signs), Runcorn bridge closed. Complete traffic gridlock, which is a bit of a problem when your business relies on being able to deliver aggregates by truck!
Some enterprising motorists decided to run their own trial of the "hard shoulder sharing scheme", which our drivers report to be a huge sucess! (two way radios in all our trucks)
Worst of all, our boiler at the office has broke down, so we're 'effin freezing!

Would you mind in future if you told all the truck drivers so that they won't be surprised to find themselves on their sides when they go over the Thellwall viaduct / Barton bridge etc etc

I've got to head west down the A50 later from Nottingham to Uttoxeter-anybody been down that way recently and can give me a weather report? Didnt seem too bad coming East this morning, but there were 2 trucks blown over so must have been reasonably blowy.

M6 at Knutsford stooped this morning along with A556 into Manchester.
Used all the backroads, without sat nav.
Still 20 mins late at work

I didn't have a problem, at 6.00am, there were no lemmings about, just had to detour from my normal route to get to the quarry. By 8.00 the roads in the immediate area were at a standstill.
My biggest problem is getting the boiler to run continuously for more than 3 minutes.
