Seems like a perfect weekend to be in the woods to me, suns a shining and I reckon the countryside will be rambler free, mind I will miss the greatest event ever devised to keep the worlds population sat on the sofa, world records I expect to be broken are
Largest TV audience ever.
Highest gate takings ever for a event
I'm sure there's more and what is it with running your event in sun glasses this is England for fuck sake
Do the Olympics compare to blatting my 690 round the beacons for 2 days ? Not a chance
Mind u I have allways been a bit weird

Well that was a good weekends riding. Tough event, very tough when it got wet on the climbs on the Sunday. It was only just this side of being do-able (by me) on a big twin.

Don't suppose you got any of me on the black 1150 GSA, there was a guy there doing photos commercially but he missed me out for some reason. There was a theory he dived for cover when he saw me bearing down on him on the ragged edge of control of 1/4 ton of Bayerische's finest.

Your determination to finish was admirable Mike F, the look on the guy's face at the start of the second stage on day 2 when you asked him to follow you around the stage to help if you got stuck was a joy

My wife and I were in the black land rover doing the timing at the start of the first stage on day 1 and second stage on day 2 - and I'm still doing the results - two of our timing laptops failed and I've had to enter over half the stage times from the manual backups

A big thanks to all who organised the rally, superb as usual.

I must say I think this was the most enjoyable rally I have done. I was getting a bit to dusty by the end of Saturday and so the rain was very welcome on Sunday. I held off raining in the day until I was within sight of the finish!! wonderful.

Having said that I am blatting around on a 400 so the climbs were fun!

the climbs were fun on the xchallenge, it was just some of the descents that got to me

To all the marshals, organisers - Thanks for your hard work - best one in the last few years and really like the relaxed attitude.

And no matter what I do, mine will always have shit forks. But I got round and I'm pleased with that. Last lap on Sunday really was the ragged edge...

Thanks very much for giving up your time and making a great event possible. Sadly your Special was a stopper for me. Going down the hill was OK but by the time I reached the bottom the front mudguard was pretty much completely clogged. As I got into the ruts at the bottom is was totally clogged and the wheel was locked. For once I was grateful for the ruts as all I had to do was get in one and power it on - the rut kept the locked up front wheel upright and pointing in the right direction with just a modest amount of input from me. Hard bloody work tho....

and not great for a time!

Also had a big off on second lap and got pinned under the bike. But that was just rider error.

Anyhow, thanks again and hope to see you at the next one.
