Beak extender thingy

Does anyone know if the black beak extender for the 1200GS ADVENTURE is different to the non adventure??

I have bought one from an 06 model GSA but it doesn't fit my 05 GS.

thats strange,i fitted one to my 06 gs & it fitted no problem-i thought the 05 and 06 gs were the same bodywork wise? maybe you have been supplied with the wrong part?

Fitted a genuine BMW beak extender to my 05 GS no problems at all. I did need longer bolts and a couple of collars to secure it to the standard beak properly but otherwise it just clips straight over the top.

I believe the beak extender itself is the same for both the GS and GSA? Only difference is the GSA comes with one as standard.

Well it's a genuine, e-bay purchase. It looks like it's new. I don't know if the seller is a member on here, but he did say he had to modify his bodywork to make it fit.

It has a part number of 4661-7705386

I wonder if it's for a different GS

they're the same - sounds like you've bought a beak extender for an 08/09 or even an 1150GS. No mods required to fit on any year model.

The part number for 04 to 07 bikes is 46617694390. Part number for 08 bike on is 46617705386.
