Beak ???

Been flicking through the books of toys for the GS and came across the beak thing, apart from the looks do they serve any purpose .... have to admit they change the lines of the bike in a good way (my view) but seem a lot of money if only aesthetic .....

Do you mean the black plastic ad on that comes as standard on the GSA but can be retro fitted to the GS?

They are supposed to deflect water and mud thrown forward (the splash of which you then drive through) of the front wheel. You will need the add on beak with extra bits added to do it properly.

Bought (and fitted!) one on my 1200, I thought that it improved protection/deflection in wet weather.
Doubtless someone else will have another opinion.

It would certainly help prevent some water come splashing back onto the screen but I reckon it's also there to serve as a help to guide air around the big GSA fuel tank and to direct cooling air into the oil cooler mounted underneath the headlamp ass

It will save you a lot of money!!!

If you want to 'decorate' your bike with useless accessories ( and don't we all?) this is about the cheapest one you can find, very easy to fit and does make your bike just a little bit different. But get out of the BMW shop as quickly as you can else..........
