Hello,
I think I have to change the bearings of the rear wheel fork. They make noises at going up and down. Does anybody know the dimensions and the type of the two bearings? I don't want to by them at BMW. Has anybody changed them at home. I know I have to warm up the area around to 120° C. What experiences have you made?

I just had my paralever bearings changed by the dealer - looked at the manual and decided I didn't fancy doing it myself. Aside from the heat source you also need (from memory) 3 special tools to do the job properly. Why don't you want to buy the bearings from a dealer? They're not expensive.

If the paralever bearings are worn then there will be movement in the swingarm which it is easy to check for - try rocking the wheel top to bottom and front to back. If there's no movement, check the rear shock - it's more likely to be the cause of any strange noises.
