Hi to all Gurus

I got my self project 97' 1100RT, Bike was crashed completely banjaxed, not by me
, what a mess, ( new forks well to me, telelever, front wheel , plastics, lights and so on.
Any way long story short, im replacing all seal and bearings, now gearbox M97 all bearings wore sealed but one 6001 on gear selector drum i think, anyhow i have some from days back but they 6001ZZ with metal seal , i can take seals off but why can i use them like that? any thought on that?
Another think FD big bearing, its knowing to fail, not sure how mine is but i will be changing anyway, there option get rubber sealed, why BMW not upgrade to rubber sealed stop debris getting in???
If any one have experience please share.
