Hi All
Thought I'd recommend the Trailworld (Markyate, Herts) Off Road course for beginners. OH and I have not long bought Enduro type machines KTM990 and a G650GS graduated from road bikes and thought we'd better take a course to learn to ride them properly. We found them very professional, the course was very comprehensive explaining how and most importantly why we were tackling various obstacles the way we did rutts, hill climbs, wet sections etc. There are 3 courses a gravel circuit, a gravel rutted wet hilly circuit and a top field circuit incorporating all the previous including to me anyway a humungous gravelly ascent and descent on an embankment, the top field really sapped the strength and by the end we were totally knackered. We finished the day with a ride along a byway and to be honest this was easy compared to what we have done previously. We had a great time and only confirmed to us that we want to green lane, don't expect brilliant facilities but what they have is more than sufficient and anyway you're there to ride the bikes not use the facilities. There web is http://www.trailworld.co.uk if you've got to start somewhere this isn't a bad place to start and very reasonable.
