Gecko Migsel et all,

I might need a clutch change and it looks like I might not be able to work it out with Steptoe (unfortunatly) I have only ever used BMW brussels and Faignoy...

Who would you recommend me to use and could you ask them in Flemmish for a quote....

Richie,

A new "koppeling" is what you need (if you didn't know that already) I had mine done in the Hague and ride-in ride-out it cost about 700 Euro about a year ago.

Maybe this helps?

David

Hi Richie,

I asked about it last year at Motorhuis Hasselt and they said about 500 euros if I remember correctly.

It's on the other side of Belgium, but you could send them an e-mail to ask (see site). I'm quite sure they'll understand English.

Or else you put this in your e-mail:

Beste,

Mag ik van u een prijsofferte voor het vervangen van de koppeling van mijn R1100GS aub?

Met vriendelijke groet,
Richie

Cheers,
Michel

PS If all else fails, I have a good workshop manual :D

Thanks Migsel, I must admit that 500 euros is more appealing than more. As far as the workshopmanual is concerned, I think not....

The clutch is always an expensive option if you don't do it yourself. You have to split the bike, basically, and they spend 3 hours taking the thing apart, before they even get to start on the clutch, and another 3 putting it back together again.
