after a couple of months of ownership I've just noticed i'm missing the belly pan for the bike, where can I get one from? its for a 1150 :)

bellyPan

Bugger... my 1150GSA is missing the belly pan too !

... as I think they all are. They dont have a belly pan to my knowledge, but I could be wrong

Sump gaurd

Is what it's called someone has probably left it off as it's another job taking it off to change the oil.

Mine is safely tucked away in the garage as it is a waste of time if you only ride on tarmac, and as stated is just an obstical when doing an oil change.

does an 1100 SG fit anyone know?

I've got a feeling there's one wafting around in the shed if it does.

I left mine off my 850 after the first service I gave it. It's pretty hefty, I know it wouldn't make much difference, but every little counts. No doubt I'll leave it off my 1150 when I first do the oil too.

Cheers guys, I just don't like the oil filter etc exposed to the world, it's naked lol.

I'll buy on eonce i get all the other issues sorted :)

After piercing & ripping one off on the M1, when I clipped a piece of metal with the front tyre which had fallen off a lorry, I'm glad I had it or it would have been a sump and possible new engine

Unusual event, but it did its job and was toast afterwards

Daft thing is the GS filter is just about the most protected filter of most bikes out there, even without the plate.. Just think, all the other R models leave it uncovered!!

I had contemplated leaving it off myself but on my 03 GSA the bash plate / sump guard forms part of the OE crashbar system. The side bars are bolted to it with 2 bolts on either side!!

Agreed, It is a total pain in the hole taking it off for an oil change though!!:anger:

Make sure its on tight. Mine nearly fell off the other week. Both front bolts were gone and the back nuts were close to falling off.

Hi garvey ,is it a standard r1150gs not an adventure?
You should have two plates on under there.
I may have one to spare in a bit.

My 1150R is exposed, and i removed the sump guard on my loan bike 1150GS.

Christ, my harley oil filter sits behind the front wheel directly in line where all the shite gets thrown up :D

I noticed that, Just sent him an email. depending on the cost, I might not bother :)

Do you still have the sump guard mounts in place on your sump ? The usual reason for not having a sump guard fitted are the mounts have broken off. Have fun removing the studs if the rubber bungs have broken off :D
