Popped into Benham's today and they got the new 30yrs model range in. Also open weekend this w,kend (obviously:blast)

Just thought I'd give a heads up if anyone interested. There are a few others there including the IAM etc.

That's all :thumb

Will be there on Monday as GS booked in for brake line recall, have a GSA booked for test ride whilst they fix mine.

I've fallen out with them at the moment after telling me that their 'book' reckons my 58 plate 800GS should have done 4500 miles when calculating trade in price... not that i'm getting rid i was just curious... If i told you how many miles a 1200GS 'should' have done you would laugh.... 8500

the more dealers the better healthy competition ect,but when i look around benhams i am always thinking about the running costs of such a dealership ie staff wages, rates(city center site) and general costs of such an impressive showroom.wonder who pays those..... oh that would be us!!!. i am on a winner though 3 coffees and never spent a penny

Wouldnt take my bike or car there ever again!, totaly f---ed up the intercom system on my RT when it went in for fuel guage repair under warranty, had to get it repaired by third party as they hadnt a clue! seemed the technicians/monkeys just ripped all the wires out without looking where they went.
When i got the bike home there were bolts loose and grommits missing, clips broken, all done by supposidly trained technicians/monkeys!
Has taken best part of 3 months to try and resolve with me doing all the chasing, aftersales/service couldnt give a damn!
Invoiced them for the repairs and my lost time, took nearly 4 weeks to get part of the money and still haggling about remainder, wouldnt touch them with a barge pole:eek:

Is this the first complaint i wonder..

To be fair ive spoken to people who have had servicing done and have been happy with the service, ive had a few issues with them , the worst being the damage caused to my bike as already mentioned, i also booked a test ride on the new 1200 gs and 1200 rt back to back, at time of booking i informed them that i needed a test ride with a pillion as we wanted to see which bike suited our needs best, no problem we were told, following weekend went in for test ride, told no can do, insurance wont cover pillion test rides, wasted a day messing about didnt even have the decency to telephone us prior to the test ride to explain the problems with the insurance.
Maybe its just me, but i doubt it, as said i wont be returning:rob

Well in for 0800hrs just as they were opening for the brake recall and left at 1130, job done, bike cleaned and all appears OK.

Took the opportunity to ride a GSAdventurer, the new one, I knew I shouldn't have, the new engine is a peach, smoother, particulary at low speed through town, quicker through mid range which goes without saying and sounds a treat!!

I like the loftier riding position, get the seat on highest setting and still get both feet down flat, bigger screen and winglets do make a difference. The demonstrator has just a shade under 1000miles on and is now for sale. If my oldest was not planning on getting married they would have had a sale today so will have to wait a bit longer before I change, but is someone wants an immaculate 07 plate GS for £10,000 then I can do the deal................................................................................................................I take it thats a no then!!
