Some complete and utter piece of ameoba shit tried to move my bike in the bike park and managed to drop it in the process (no note obviously but left a tell-tale red scratch on my exhaust). The cosmetic damage is obvious, broken indicator, scratched head-cover etc. but does anyone know how I can test whether the frame has been bent?

Many thanks

Very unlikley a bent frame, give it a thrash down the road and see if it feels any different.
I'll kick a few red cars tomorrow for you, bound to get the twat eventually:shoot:

Andrew been thinking of this for a while,

Woman knocked me off my bike few weeks ago at a very slow speed. Result broken indicator and bend handlebars.

However after I replaced my gearbox two weeks ago found numerous small things that got damaged. The main being a bend subframe ever so slightly. The quickest way to find this out is removing the side subframe bolts above the carbs behind the telelever and possibly the bolts above the footrests. Put a jack under the gearbox to at least take the weight of the whole lot. If you cant get the bolts back in their holes again your subframe has bend and you going to have a very nasty time getting those bolts back in.

We had to bend the subframe slightly untill everything ligned up to get the bolts in their places without stripping the threads.

Think this is the only clear way you will know if there was any structural damage besides the obvious you can see with the eye.

cheers

Thanks Maverick. It sounds a bit beyond my technical expertise but I'll mention your wise words to those who do my 12,000 mile coming up shortly. The handling seems fine so far although I've only been around town.

Andrew,
There is a front/rear wheel offset check in the workshop manual (there should be a 3mm offset) but needs an eloborate tool to check it. I have the manual as a pdf file if you want to read up about it, I can send it.

Thanks for the offer Iletts, I'll leave it for now. Judging by the stupid grin on my face when I got off the bike this morning I think my concerns are unfounded. The bike feels perfect.
