Bernina Express

During our planned 2027 tour to Sardinia we are hoping to take a trip on the Bernina Express in Switzerland on our return route. We are hoping to find a nice hotel in Chur, Switzerland..take the train to Tirano, Italy on the 2nd day, with an overnight stay, and then take the return journey back to Chur on the 3rd day. Anyone have any information on 3/4 star hotels in Chur where they have secure parking for 3 nights, even though we will only be there for 2?

One of the best ways to book the Bernina (or other Swiss rail journeys) is to ask at the SBB travel office. They have some very good packages for hotels and trains which I could not match price wise when living in Swissy. I've used them via web page contacts since returning to UK.
From memory there was nothing in Tirano. The tour I went on from Chur (ps pronounced Herrr, with a throaty H) stopped at Tirano for lunch then a coach to Lecano for overnight before return to Chur.

Need to be a bit careful with tickets...you have to buy a reservation AND a ticket for the Bernina Express....which is worth every penny....there was a stushie on the train we were on because the (American)tourist hadn't realised...
If no joy with hotels in Chur could you not commute from Zurich, regular speedy trains between them? Hop off the Zurich train straight onto the Bernina in the next platform.
