Hi chaps, ive had a demo on a 2010 GSA and i was blown away on how good it was compared to a 2009 GS i had a blast on last year, and now my littlle 800gs does'nt do it for me and i want a 2010 GSA, the fully spec'd up bike is £14750 the stealer offered me good money for my 800 but im not fussed about trading it in as i can sell it easy as its fully spec'd up with bling, and so i wonder if anyone can give me info/details of any good deals they have come across regarding buying a new bike via a cash deal.

Many Thx
Dave

Theres a guy on ebay selling his wants to swap for an 800 might be worth a look or a new 30 yr gsa 4 12k on there as well

Not a bad deal :)

I managed to get my 2010 30th Edition GSA for 14500 all in, all optional extra's ticked (except enduro box option as I'd have to wait and I'm too impatient lol), and managed to blag an alu topbox & mounting kit for free aswell. Only thing I didn't get was the bags for in the cases :(

Fortunately though I'm not tied in to finance, as paid cash there & then. Probably why I managed to get it down further perhaps...

Chester/southport or Williams?

Sometimes it can work out good using the manufacturers finance deals proving you have the cash to pay the balance off at the correct time.

For example I change my Vauxhall corsa every year (Just had the settlement fee so these numbers are accurate). I use Vauxhalls FDA scheme (Finance Deposit Allowance) and get a further discount of £1,500 of the car.

I loan £5,000, but only pay the first 4 payments which total about £645. Then settle the balance which costs £4,850. Overall I have shelled out £5,495 for a £5,000 loan. But I got £1,500 of the car, so overall I saved £855 and used someone elses money for 4 months.

Always check out if these deals are to be had, but you have to settle the balance early or the manufacturers win.

Also ensure there is no early settlement penalty. The earlier you settel the bigger the overall savings are. But vauxhall cottoned on to this which resulted in a minimum 4 months/4 payments.

Looks like you may be able to do this with that finance deal but do the numbers carefully to see if it works.

Note also the dealers make money on the finance, sometimes that is actually where the real profit is. Hence overall you can often get a better deal using the dealers finance (but don't tell them you plan to sttle early because this cuts their profit margin).

Hi ive made some calls to a couple of dealers and im not wanting any finance however cash aint king dealers dont want it, well what i mean they will not allow any discount because they would rather have a finance sale as they make money on the finance or they want my px as they make money on the resale!! so ill carry on my search one thing ive noticed! ive not had any follow up calls from dealers to tempt me to buy, if it was a jap dealer they would have been ringing me every day!

Ahhh....

.....read this the other day and thought "Ah - would be nice to look for another bike..." then prompty rode into the back of a van and wrote my April '09 GSA off !

£7.5k estimate to repair so expect to get confirmation that it'll be written off today. GAP insurance in place from BMW so I'll get the £11,700 I paid for it back in April last year.

The only problem is.....prices seem to have shot up for GSA's !!

I doubt I'll get one with both packs on for that amount so I guess I'm looking at an ex-demo or second hand ?

So....where are the offers out there then !?!?!?

I guess the best deals to be made now are on 2010 leftovers so if you don't want the endruo box you should ring araound to see if they have any left. Any new built bike is now 2011 model year and you can recognise that from the 10th digit on the VIN (A=2010, B=2011). The only difference are the shocks now made by WP instead of Showa.

Good luck! :thumb2
