I don't think there can be a "best". It depends on how I'm feeling at any given time.

But if there is, it's probably going to be by Jeff beck, jimmy page, Frank Zappa, or Rory Gallagher.

'It depends on how I'm feeling at any given time.'

yup, s'what I said a while back mate , right on.

AND
If you think about it that's how wars start, not realising and accepting people to be all different.:rob

There endeth my second lesson.:beerjug:and :beer:in fact :jager

I cannot believe that nobody has mentioned probably the most naturally gifted guitarists that has and probably every will live. This guy had true unthinking ability. I know it's not to everyones taste but in this performance he just oozes class.

Give this video 3 minutes of your time...............

i probably shouldn't say this, but i'm largely bored with hendrix these days. great, fabulously gifted player and innovator, but is it only me that's noticed that most of his songs are rubbish? :hide

my favourite guitar solo today (and some other days too) is nels cline on Wilco's Side With The Seeds. i hope to have a new one tomorrow.

and no, i'm not saying he's a better player than hendrix.

...................................

Me too, me too!

I feel as if a great weight has been lifted and that I can now, at last, hold my head high in public again. I thought I was the only one! :thumb

As much as it breaks my heart to say it ..................... I feel the same.
I've not listened to any of his stuff for a long time.
Can't take it away from him though, he changed the music world for ever.

BB King.

Great, I have a load of his albums . . . But . . . These days I think Buddy Guy is better (I have even more of his albums :D).

Also, Buddy Whittington (ex- John Mayall's Bluesbreakers) is good too.

And, listen to Jimmy Vaughn doing "Texas Flood" at the tribute concert to his brother Stevie-Ray :bow That ones in the big car's 10-CD changer :thumb.

Then there's Walter Trout, Robert Gray, Otis Rush and, of course, Clapton.

It all depends on the mood :rob.

Bob.

Well it's not the perfect piece of guitar for the thread but it's lovely none the less!
