What's the best in helmet audio solution? I'm only interested in music and I don't care if it's blutooth or not. Are moulded earplugs or in helmet speakers better?

I much prefer in-ear buds as it means that you still have noise protection, even when you are not listening to music and having a quiet moment.
My ear-buds came with a Sony Ericsson MWH600 bluetooth unit that also offers FM radio. They are comfy and not too large, i.s. do not stick out of my ears too much. I have better quality Denon earbuds, but they are too long (they stick out of my ears too much) and are not as comfy inside a helmet.
The helmet speakers that came with my Sena Bluetooth headset which I subsequently bought after the S-E BT device. The speakers were/are excellent quality, with good sound. But I bought the adaptor from Sena and use my S-E earbuds as I prefer them
Autocom with a set of Mickies moulded ear protection plugs fitted with audio air tubes, had them a couple of years now, they are without doubt the dogs b........
I'm sure he will be on here soon.
I have tried a number of different solutions over the years and have absolutely no doubt these are the best. Excellent fit (you need to be moulded) excellent sound and so far pretty robust. Previous makes have all snapped the wire as it enters the moulded bit. These seem to be better made and have lasted a good 30k miles so far.
They are a bit pricy, but when you have wasted a few £100 on other solutions, you'll wish you had started with ultimateears.*
Personally I haven't tried these but feel that they might give something of an isolated audio experience where, with music playing, any background noise is all but totally eliminated. For some this might be what they're looking for though.
Having some background noise, for me at least, is preferable. So I'll be sticking with my in helmet Autocom speakers combined with MAX Lite ear-plugs. With careful initial set-up of the speakers, ensuring they're central over my ear canal and lightly in contact with my ears, audio performance is pretty good. Obviously at higher speed wind noise does intrude though for me this is acceptable, for music, up to about 80-85mph. Sat-nav and PMR work acceptably up to about 100. Only using the latter speed very occasionally and briefly it's not really a problem. Also means I don't have to mess around with extra wires which is a bonus.
I have got a pair of ultimate ear mouldeds. They are about 7 or 8 years old at least now though. although they are good on the bike in that they attenuate other noise, laying on a beach with them, I don't actually find the sound quality as good as a 1/2 decent pair of headphones
