Best month to do Nordkapp?

Cheers for that. There could be a big difference between the months, and I'm aware that so far it's been the warmest winter on record for Lapland, but I'm not after Scott of the Antarctic stuff, just busy in May/June hence the April aim.

I can see the attraction of going early in the season - Far from the Maddening Crowds!

I was watching some Ray Mears winter survival videos on YouTube. Not sure if they were in Sweden or Finland, but it was Sammi country in the far north. He was talking about seriously cold temperatures (-40/-50 Deg C), but I suppose that would be December/January time.

You can go anywhere anytime in a 2WD Ural!

The E6 is kept open, but can temporarily close or be convoy only if there is heavy snow fall or a storm. The info web site is in Norwegian only, but you can always call 175 for information. (Manual service.)

Don´t know if the road to the North Cape is kept open, I´m not a local there. In fact, I probably know more about Venize... But this page:

I think July/August is the best time to visit the Nordkapp. June will also be ok just a bit cooler, specially at night. In May the roads will be snow/ice free, but its likely that there will be some snow beside the road in the northern pasts of the country. (circa from Bodø and farther north). September might also be nice with the autumn leaves, but the nights might be cold with chances of frost.
