Best, most comfortable GORE TEX boots!

boots

just bought 2 pairs of daytonas from louis.de
evo riders for 299euro
300 odd pounds stg in the uk
+ another pair of goretex engineer type boots

well pleased

Or the cheaper option is too buy Goretex boot liners, never had wet feet using them even when knee deep in a river.

...thought I'd try Altberg (buy British & all that). Having feet by Sasquatch, I needed them to be made to measure. As I was in the area, I went to the factory in early November, got measured by the nice man (clearly the lady's day off). All was fine until he started talking about delivery dates.... End of February....

I understand that this lead time is not unusual (I think Yosi told me he had a similar experience). The date was not a player, so Daytona got my business again.

Mike:)

Ordered a pair of AltBergs last Sept, they should be delivered end of next week.
I've also got some 2.5 year old (30k mls) Daytonas that now leak around the heel. But as suggested else where I now use my work supplied goretex socks.

Regards

Tim

I love my Altbergs. I've had them a couple of years now. They arevery comfotable and have never leaked. The main downside is the time between ordering them and getting them delivered.
Putting them on the first time was difficult, the leather was very stiff, but they were very comfortable after putting them on.

Before getting the Altbergs I used Goretex socks or boot liners. They were reasonably effective but you do have to remember to put them, otherwise they aren't quite so useful. :) And before Goretex socks, supermarket carrier bags were an effective and cheap solution to keeping the outside water out. Unfortunately they also keep the "inside" water in.

Do Daytona ever make an appearance at motorcycle shows.

I don't expect anyone to make a miracle prediction about what will happen at this year's shows, but just wondered if it's ever been known.

I like to pick up my stuff at shows wherever possible

David,
RAD will be at the Brussels International Motorshow,(see my thread in 'overseas') they stock Daytona along with a few others.
I also have Daytona boots, ' Roadstar Goretex ' and I must say they're the most comfortable boot I've worn, better than my slippers and they haven't even let a drop of water in:D .
Oh, I almost forgot to mention I crashed in them at about 70km/h on a diesel spilt roundabout. My BMW K1200RS slid on top of one of my boots as it was stuck under it and it only slightly grazed the leather, no injuries to my feet at all :D.

Daytona do wide sizes too, which are 2cm wider than normal, so its worth trying pairs on first, or be prepared to send them back. hideout-leather.co.uk or custom-lids are two equally good suppliers in the UK...

I landed up with a size smaller than usual in the "wide" variant...

Thanks John,

Actually I had a quick look and I saw the Netherlands Supplier is quite close to Amsterdam. I also saw your thread about the Brussels show, but I will probably go to the Motor Beurs show in Utrecht in February instead as it's much closer and there are a couple of other things that I want to pick up that I know I can get there.

Cheers,

David

Re: Daytona Boots

Where did you get yours and how much were they? Prices seem to be in the £200 area.

I'm looking to find a supplier of Daytona boots. Anyone know where I can access a pair of Travelstar GTX (cheap :D ). Local bike dealer doesn't seem to think this brand are imported here.
Need them quickish.

Ta for any help.

Oxtar's are good too

I have the Oxtar Matrix boots and I am very happy with them. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are - especially as I have wide feet.

Well I'm going to have a look at some Daytonas - my Altbergs, which I bought three years ago are still as bloody uncomfortable as when new. I hate the things - and they leak in heavy rain.
