Hi, I need yet another outdoor cover for my GS. Bought an Oxford cover, largest one they do, it fell apart after 11 months, UV damage, the fabric turned to tissue paper!
Bought one off Amazon, good old Chinese generic thing, stated as being UV stable etc etc. After 5 months (Feb to today) its also falling apart, black upper area faded to grey and also fabric falling apart, I can tear it apart with my fingers.
Has anyone found a cover that does what its supposed to do, is UV stable, and fits the 1200GS without topbox & panniers, but with a high screen?
The top of the screen is 1600mm from the ground, its about 800mm at the bars, when on the main stand, and I'm in the UK...any help much appreciated!
Thanks again, Mike

Check out specialisedcovers.com. I have a few covers that have been outside for several years. Better than any other covers I've used. They do a few different grades. You supply measurements.

I missed out on a JDC cover that was advertised on here a couple of months ago. In a PM conversation the seller advised me to ‘get one, even at full retail they are worth every penny’. So I’m going to.

I've had a cover from www.bikescovers.co.uk for the last year for my GSA which although quite lightweight in feel has proved to be both waterproof and breathable. The light weight has proved a real bonus when hauling the cover on and off, especially when wet, and it hasn't marked the paint or screen. They do a whole range of sizes for different makes & models and the one I've got covers the GSA screen in the high position and the top box and panniers. The only downside is that having the cover has meant the bike has been more prone to being blown over (twice now).

Thanks for the comments everyone, I've gone for the bikecovers.uk Eclipse cover, UK seller and a good price :thumby:

I do have an older HG outdoor cover, which has been stored for some time, only used 1 season…
Drop by have a look and test…
Great quality, waterproof and inner lined, whatever, see for yourself…

I’ve just bought a couple of XL bike covers from Aldi, £10 each, the quality knocks the Oxford covers for 6, and fits like a glove on my 1150ADV which has a MRA high screen

Wish I'd spotted those: bet they are sold out now, bugger!
I bought an Oxford cover off Amazon, after 14 months it was falling apart, actually started ripping months earlier, I just thought I'd ripped it. I soon realised the fabric was breaking down, my thinking is its not UV proof after all. I could push my finger through it, like tissue paper. I contacted Oxford (not an easy job finding their email address either)
They just said its over 12 months old so out of warranty. I just won't buy any Oxford products from now on, chinese substandard junk! I kept the cover, left it outside, after 19 months its turning to dust, it literally crumbles apart

now don`t all go bonkers..... go price the BMW one up, bought my first 12years ago for £50ish, replaced it 12 months ago for about £75ish(can`t remember properly), all that had happened was storm damage and yes it was looking poor But!! it fitted my 1200GSA with tall screen, big tank, blah, blah, I`ve been happy with it and I`ll recommend it to anybody for similar bike. :giggle:
