Best pads for a 2007 1200GSA ABS

Hi Guys and Gals,

Im looking for some advice on which would be the best to replace my original organic rear pads with. I have been told I have done well getting 4500miles out of the originals ? I remember getting much more than that from my old 1150 but hey ho they need done so which type do you recommend ?

They do wear very, very quickly. Mine were shot before the 6000 mile service and it's something new 1200gs'ers should keep an eye on rather than expecting them to last long enough to be picked up at the service.

I've used 'ordinary' EBC's since (not the sintered HH type), I notice no difference in 'feel'; they are half the price and last about twice as long.

Just replaced mine with the EBC HH ones :thumb

Fronts had loads of meat left on em... back one was down to a couple of micrometers...

Thing is, that is after 15,000 miles :eek: Now, its a GS, as opposed to an adventure... but i'm shocked you only got 4,500 miles out of em

Mine's still on original rear pads at 13,000 miles :eek:
 
just in time for the first service...

mine had just used all the meat on the pad at the first service (6k miles):eek:

The dealer asked if i wanted to fit the more expensive (sintered??) pads and i went with that, and they're still good 7k miles later

I was shocked, as my previous rear brake pads have lasted as long as i've had the bike. Thank you, linked braking!!

I wouldn't mind if i was sliding the rear of the bike coming into hairpins:cool:, but anyone who has seen me knows better!!:D

I got through a set of rear pads in 6k miles, noticed during the first service.

My brother-in-law was looking at mine on Sunday - he also rides a 1200GS and we were comparing pad thickness and mine appear to be worn right down after 3k miles :eek:.

I have ordered a set of organics and sintered pads but which do I fit? :augie
 
mine were changed at my service with 5200 mile something to do with the multi linked brakes.

amazing my front pads have done 60000 miles and i am on my tenth set of rear ones summit strange eh
