As I've got the beast well and truly stripped down for a major rebuild I think it's prudent to replace as many bearings and seals as I possibly can.

Anyone have a good source for all the different bearings on an 1100 GS? Basically I shall be needing:

Telelever arm bearings.
Engine rear output shaft oil seal.
Headstock taper? bearing.
Front & rear wheel bearings.
Both sets of shaft bearings (front gearbox moount & rear final drive mount)
Anything else I, or you lot can think of that could do with replacing. The bikes done 60k, it's having a new(er) engine from an 1100 S put in along with Ohlins front and rear, so with all new bearings in it I reckon it should be as good as new (well, better hopefully).

Look in your local phone directory for a Bearing Supplier.

Note down the bearing sizes and either ask over the phone for quotes or call in and ask them.

Then compare the quotes with your local Dealer and the likes of Motorworks,et al....sometimes a Bearing Supplier can be dearer than even a BMW Dealer for some bearings.

Clive,

This place is pretty close to me in Sidcup.

Fiveways Belts & Bearings
752, Sidcup Rd,
New Eltham,
London,
SE9 3NS
Tel: 020 8857 5208

If you can let them have bearing #'s etc they will try to match them up.

I could always collect if needed.
