We watched a programme about how cathedrals were built last night and Gloucester cathedral was featured and wifey has decided that we are going to visit it this Saturday. We are going on the bike so where is the best and nearest place to park - can we get into the cathedral precinct and park there? :nenau

PS. This is the actual cathedral we are talking about here not Kingsholm which I know is revered and worshipped at as a cathedral by Gloucester rugby fanatics:D

I also watched that programme. Quite amazing!

I now must urgently revisit Ely Catherdral!

Twas a good prog wasn't it.......chappy was right about the no-name genius' who designed the things and how they ought to be revered like Michaelangelo et el. yet no bugger apart from some real nerdy historians has even heard of a name :(

I wonder what one of them would make of Canary wharf :D

Excellent program and what fabulous buildings. I keep meaning to take the roof tour when I'm next up in Lincoln.
I went up the tower at York Minster and needed oxygen by the time I reached the top.... my lad couldn't stop laughing :o

Oi Fanny bugger off and stop hijacking me thread :rob:D:handbag
