Hi, sorry if this has been asked before. I have a 2024 GSA which my partner frequently rides pillion. She complains that she get quite a lot of wind buffeting while doing motorway speeds. Any suggestions please? Perhaps replacing the screen?

Leave here indoors. No more moaning, whining and complaining and you can listen to your music or ride in silence.

Before spending I'd try to narrow down the culprit.

Better or worse with the screen adjusted up / down?

Better or worse if she stands up?

Mirrors or winglets worth ruling out.

Wind flow behind the rider probably more complex than for the rider himself who will also be a possible cause

Puig clear Touring screen with the screen extender/deflector - at 186 cm I can ride all day with visor open and the missus with no complaints on pillion - I have it set on lowest position and don't need to raise it even on motorway - needs the stabilising brackets too though - Cymarc / Nippy Norms

I've got the Wunderlich Marathon which is excellent. Standard GS though, not GSA. It's expensive (bought mine second hand) and huge, but I have found it great. I suffered with the original screen at first, bought this very quickly and it's been on my bike for nearly 4 years. Very rare to get any buffeting, only specific wind and lorry conditions on the motorway cause me to feel buffeting, but like I said, very rare. My wife has never complained.

You would probably need the re-inforcement package, which I also heartily recommend, makes the screen very solid.

I’ve got the Puig which is very good but the MRA tends to always get the best reviews.

Important to work out though - where is the buffering coming from. Is it the wind off the top of the screen or is it round the sides? In which case hand guard deflectors might help as well.

I found on ever setting the screen caused buffeting wasnt good on my GSA so added some screen supports which has made a big difference

Take a look on eagle screens, Australia. They have various sizes.

Basic aerodynamics will show that a screen alone cannot eliminate buffeting.

I agree that experimenting is key to solving this.

Please also try ‘no screen’. People intuitively feel that the bigger the better, whilst it is often the screen itself that causes the buffeting.

Take it off, you may be surprised.

Taking it off is a fantastic way to remove buffeting given you end up with clean airflow.

However a pillion will get buffeting from the rider as they will disrupt the airflow so it might not solve the issue here.
