Hi all
Looking at the best self bleed system for brakes / clutch. To my mind there are 4 options - :rob

1. Pressurize from the master cylinder - uses a sealed cap and pressure (usually from a spare tyre)

2. Use of a non return vale (in the bleed nipple itself, known as a speedbleeder)

3. Use of a non-return valve (at the end of the tubing attached to bleed nipple)

4. Hand vacuum, again attached to the end of the tubing attached to the bleed nipple.

Which would you recommend / would you use ? :nenau

Many thanks :beerjug:

What brake set up are you trying to bleed? Servo? ABS?

I raised a similar question myself a while back, but my query was specifically for views on the speedbleeder. My GS has the servo. Advice was to ignore them.

However, I put a speed bleeder on the clutch bleed valve (to replace the corroded mess of the original). Well, i can only say, bloody brilliant.

My only dilemma is forking out for the forest of nipples on the servo. Six in all. Advantages would be ease and minimal mess. Which appeals to me. But then I get back to the cost

But big vote for the speedbleeders from my side.

If you want a sytem for doing motorcycles I would recommend the Mityvac MV8000.

On some vehicles basic is best, i.e. pump the lever and hold and crack the nipple.

I use a bit of clear vinyl tube plugged at the outlet with a rivet and retained in a catch bottle, then put a small slit (5mm ish) in the side with a sharp scalpel, the slit acts like a non return valve and works very well, total cost nowt as I pinched all the materials from work.
