I find that in Dynamic, the electronics kick in fairly quickly, causing the front wheel to come down abruptly. I had several runs at a particular hump back bridge today, but the front wouldn't stay up for long enough to make it a smooth delivery.

Is Enduro Pro the way to go, for a proper wheelie?

Damned electronics.:rob:P

Stop moaning, beeyatch !

The electronics are SUPPOSED to do that, so of course they kick in :blast

Turn it all off, or switch to the setting that turns as much off as possible.....but then, you already knew that and we all know you were just trying to sneak a little kudos out of your childish antics :green gri :comfort

Excellent,use a technical cover for a pub, "I'm an amazing rider",type thread.

It's all about turning the frame around the back wheel.

de activate the traction control

I thought that Dynamic would allow wheelies, but it appears that it'll only allow small lifts.

I know that Enduro Pro definitely allows them, but sometimes don't have enough time to change setting.

Dynamic will allow wheelies. All modes do. BUT....you have to turn off traction control off first in all the road oriented modes. Common sense really. I often want the dynamic setting but don't particularly want to drive on one wheel. ASC on by default is sensible.

Normally I'd agree about turning traction control off, but on the S1000R, it will wheelie in Dynamic Pro, and will spit you off the back if you're not careful. All without touching the traction control.

I was under the impression that the GS would wheelie in Dynamic and Enduro Pro modes, and not Road, Rain or Enduro, but it seems that unless you manually turn off the TC when in Dynamic, it'll only do it in Enduro Pro. I can't see any reference to anti wheelie in the manual, but it obviously has it.

The S1000 is a 'proper' bike, GSs are dumbed down for your average rider, simple ;)

The minute your front wheel spins slower than the back (when the front is in the air) it thinks the rear is slipping......

Just turn the TC off, surely it's not that hard?

Andres

PS Or get a KTM............ :P

You stated that you were going to delete shite, non technical posts.... This in my view, is a shite non technical post....

Wheelie'ing is a technique. And a fairly technical skill to get right plus the GS needs a specific action (turning off the ASC), so what's not technical or GS specific?

This is a technical thread, as it is talking about the operation of the riding modes/ traction control.

Your post, however, is complete shite.:comfort

As you were.:rob:rolleyes:

I'm back off to the Harley section where such trivia as wheelies is not discussed......:thumb2

You need a hump backed bridge to wheelie

My 05 GS wheelies in 2nd off the throttle without the aid of bridges. With a decent lump in the road (using super unleaded and octane booster) it'll wheelie in 3rd.

These LCs are shitter than everybody is letting on...
