Looking to put an additional socket on the bike to service my BMW heated vest (I might even ride it in the cold this year 🤣🤣) and to power a pump.

The connecting lead from the jacket comes from the left so it's going down the nearside somewhere.

The cables will be coming straight from the battery with in-line fuse.

If you've done it where did you stick it?

If it’s only for winter then wire it in and just have the connection stick out under the seat?

Then come spring you can just remove it as you won’t need it any more.

I've just repositioned the SAE lead for my Optimate that doubles up for my Keis heated vest and compressor on my 1250RS the other day so that might be an option if you can't find a suitable spot for the socket?

I put it on the underside of the top frame tube. I protected the frame with some helicopter tape and held the lead in place with a couple of cable ties.

I fitted a fused 2-pin socket to the off side of the rack mount.

Normally my topbox is plugged in, with 2 x 5V-usb outlets for charging phones / intercoms, but it doubles as a charger socket and a power outlet for the tyre pump. It’s probably not an ideal place for a heated jacket socket, you’d want that at the back of the tank.

Just buy the OE extra socket.
Comes with the correct plug and loom and relocates it in the side panel under the seat on the left.

Have gone for the connection straight from the battery as I want power mainly for a pump (Nippy Norman's doing a kit for just under £20.00).
