Best Sunglasses for under helmet use, bang for buck?

After damaging two pairs of expensive oakleys at work, I now buy several pairs of Bolle safety sunglasses for about £6 a pair and chuck them when they get damaged. No issues with them under a helmet though these days I have the sun visor built into the helmet which is brilliant.

Me too, and if its really bright I drop the sun visor as well :D

I have a macular problem and it may have been caused by uv in the past. I now only wear polanrised sunglasses and have loads of pairs all over the place. I have about 6 pairs of cheapies from Aldi and most seem okay with my helmet. For special occasions i have a pair of Oakleys but that is mainly to show off. They do have superior lenses (clarity) but i also have some Daiwa Fishing glasses which are great and some Dirty Dogs -also good. So, horses for courses.

Bolle Super Nylsun (they make the Davida Nylsun glasses) - pay slightly less for the name. Just over £7. on fleabay. Designed to fit under a close-fitting helmet.

Photo chromatic ( transitions) pin lock insert is the way to go

If you're a brown eyed Johnny, they may well work adequately, but having pale blue eyes, no photochromatic lenses or pinlocks I've ever tried go near enough dark for me.

I wear sunglasses even on days when the sun isn't out, as glare makes me blind......on bright days, I'm squinting with my sunnies on AND my helmet tinted visor down. :(

The upside is that I can see very well in the dark though :)

I have blue eyes (:kissy2) and yep - even on a reasonably overcast day I'm often squinting in the light. I use sunglasses a lot. But .... other than a god pair i keep in my car (also Maui Jim as it happens) I use cheap ones on my bike. Every feckin week I drop them on the floor, they get scratched in a pannier, I leave them on somebodies car roof or boot .... !! I've given up buying good bike glasses and stick to a tenner a pair from a garage ...
