What's the best tank bag to fit a super tenere xtz1200?
I'm kinda spoiled for choice but would like everyone's opinion of the ones they use.

Cheers

Regardless of make or model of bike SW Motech bags conection are IMO the best

See the thread on tank bags

The only tank bag I've owned that has been 100% waterproof is an Enduristan Sandstorm but not owning an S10 I can't say if it'd fit ok. I've used mine on both a 1200 Multistrada and 1190 KTM and it's been a good fit on both so you'd probably be ok but it'd be worth trying one first if you can.

I'm not too keen on bags that aren't waterproof and putting a cover over them usually obscures the map pocket which is a pain in the arse to put it mildly.

the current Ride mag (June) has a review on clip on tank bags - been out a while but probably available on line
Givi and Oxford come out well, the Givi's use rain covers, Oxford have the internal drawstring 'sack'

I bought a Givi clip on a year ago with the internal waterproof sack, works very well, the top of the bag still gets wet as does the map pocket but I have never had a map pocket that didn't get wet or mist up in wet weather.

only down side is the 2 small side pockets, not big enough for glasses, phone or wallet - so it all goes in the main bag and gets lost!

I have 3 SW / Bags Connection tank bags, the biggest is the "GS" tank bag - not model specific :thumb2

We then have two smaller ones, they interchange between the bikes nicely, for touring the GS bag is pretty good, the mid sized one (Day pack I think they call it) is a reasonable size and suits the Mrs TDM quite well. The Tiny "City" bag is really just a keys / wallet type of thing. I dare say they will leak eventually without the covers being fitted, but I have never fitted the covers or had a leak even in fairly heavy / prolonged rain.

Not saying they are best as they are the only ones I have used in the last 8 years, but they have served me well.

Group Magazine reviews of these things tend to be a bit naff as they dream up stupid scoring systems and judge on things like fitting, this is a half hour process (at most) done once on something you might use for 5 or more years. Squirting a hose at something is not the same as using it on a bike either.
