Best Tankbag for 1150 GS Adventure?

I'm interested in replies to this. I have a baglux. But whilst I like the tank cover, I'm not mad keen on the bag itself. Those using the tank ring attachment look like a good idea?

(you can even have a US10 with a pair of US5s on, or a US10 with a US5 on top....you could even put a US20 plus any other combo on, but after a US10 I then switch to loading up on the rear)
Totally waterproof, totally secure, two pinch clips to get to fuel cap, 4 to remove.
Squash down to nothing when empty, several pockets to use, washable removable inner liner.
Better built than anything on the market, and BRITISH

I have a baglux city bag on mine. It's a great little bag and sits further up the tank so doesn't stick in ya tum like the other baglux offerings. They don't make em anymore and they require modification to fit but worth the hassle.
I've had the BM bag which was good, the TT bag which was also good when attached to the vp45 and an sw motech tiny weeny bag that clipped on to a tank ring. The sw motech on was good too and great for little stuff like wallet n phone. I'd worry about the big one scuffing the paintwork though.
The city bag is the bollocks for my requirements though, it's not expandable, has solid sides and just fits so neatly. Waterproof cover is arse though so I'll be looking to hack something better for it.

The most important feature of any tank appendage to me............e is an A4 map case, so the Kriega is next to useless
I like maps and i must have them on my tank appendage, so I can see them at all times
So a tankbag with a nice A4 large map case, is a must
For the last 20 years, i have been using a Baglux cover, with their excellent mapcase - but want something different now
Tell me about these 2 and their map carrying qualities, if you please

Both have map pockets that go on the top. BM bag fixes via twisty thingies, TT is Velcro.

FWIW though JB, with a tiny bit of creativity, it's very easy to put an A4 waterproof map holder on top of a US10.
I had one on mounted up like that when Rosie and I did our European tour a good few years back....I had a tank mounted bra, then a 2 litre bladder with an extended hose so both of us could use it, then a US10 and on top of that, a roll topped triple pinch sealed map holder.
I'm a firm believer in modular systems....no single piece of kit can possibly answer the needs of a discerning rider through the gamut of challenges over a year, so start off with a basic mounting system that can be adapted to hold pretty much any add-on, then adjust to suit your own needs on a ride-by-ride basis.
Then again, if you want to worship at the alter of some big brand tag and put up with the limitations of what they think is ideal, go for it

I've had the BM bag and i've still got a baglux system. Both of these i found to be a squeeze getting the map in and out of the pocket, which does nothing for the lifespan of the map itself. I've also got a rather worn Touratech one that Baykaman sold me many moons ago. This has, imho, the roomiest map holder with a large opening that prevents damage to the map occurring. The velcro attachment's pretty strong, though with age, doesn't stick to the bag attachment base so well these days. I did find it a good idea that you could use the map case on it's own, without having to take the bag.
I recently switched from baglux to bags connection using the ring mounted on the tank.
Removing the tank bag takes seconds, the same when refitting. The bag does not touch the tank at all. The map pocket is deep. An A4 map will fit, just. On my version the map pocket is an optional extra, but fits securely. The more trendy shape reduces usable space compared to my rectangular baglux, but this hasn't been an issue as I use it to store small valubles, radios, keys, camera etc. Two outside pockets are handy as is an adjustable divider inside the bag. It has access points front and rear for power cables. This is just a small bag, they do larger expandable ones as well. I like it

Here you go. Second pic shows underside of the bag and the little tag you pull to release it. When you first fit the bag you can adjust it so that it sits either further forward or back on the tank. I've been using a 'Held' tankbag that I kept from a previous F650GS and had intended to sell but it's been ideal on the GSA and also has the A4 size map flap as well as an inlet for a charging cable.
Probably will upgrade to a Wolfman tankbag and tank panniers soon though as Mrs Spenz does tend to need the extra space for hairdryer & smalls

I like the map pocket as it is secured at the rear with velcro, so flips up easily to access the bag itself. Hope this helps.
