Hi there … just bought a Trophy 1300 without alarm … never used trackers before but need to now for insurance company. Any advice (Which brand / ease of use etc.).
much appreciated.

I insured my 1300 late December 2023, BMW/Devit would only insure providing that a S5 or S8 tracker was fitted, either one would do. But it was early days for insurance recognition and a specific wiring loom was required for the tracker and was overdue from Germany. Tracker loom arrived and tracker box was fitted christmas eve, due to delay was given FOC.
So after 5 months, works fine, not aware of battery drain, some here have reported problems, but mines good.
My original policy was given for a 1250, then revised to a 1300, tracker was not noted, so we'll see what my July renewal shows.
The app shows where your bike is, during the run in service I watched it being moved from the parking area to the workshop via the app.
Hasn't been used in anger yet so can't comment.
Datatool S5. My BMW/ Devit quote was for £150 so £100 original premium +£25 new policy+£25 mid term admin, Bennett was £395 no tracker required.

Speak with your insurance company and ask them.....which is best for a premium reduction,,?
This is the best advice.

Most insist on a tracker as a term of insurance, if they don’t insist on one, the chance of a discount is slim.

Interesting

I insured my 1300 - late December with Devitt/BMW - no tracker needed

There were 2 choices, S5 or S8 tracker, or no cover, my 2020GSA was £98.00, they added about £50.00 of which £35.00 was an ammendment fee. Alternatively Bennetts no tracker £395.00 , each time spoke to devit/bennetts then they came back within the hour, I really think it depends who you speak to.

im with devitt/bmw, and they added it as a 1250 initially in Feb, ditto no tracker required but they did rob me for £1000 premium up front so probably had me down as a muppet to get on board at all cost. I needed insurance quickly and was them or Be Moto couldn't find quotes anywhere else at the time.

Mine was a 1250 originally
No change on premium but from what I remember about £350
