Hello, anyone recommend a/your best pair of waterproof boots?

My moneys on Daytona Road Star GTX Gore-Tex at the moment, anyone have these to comment? Anyone got a better idea before I splash the cash?

I've just bought a pair of these about 3 weeks ago.
They are warm, waterproof and comfy to walk about in.
Might be a bit chunky for what you want?

I bought a pair of Road star GTX's just over a week ago so it's still very early days yet but as I said in my "spotted a bargain " post, they just ooze quality also they fit and feel great out of the box.
I was out in the rain on the GSA on Monday,no problem!.
The best price that I could find was on the Louis.de site.

BMW santiago have been very good
Comfy warm and waterproof just what sir ordered

Bikestop have TCX Infinity Gore Tex reduced from £250 to £190 with free delivery.

+2 on these, done over 100k in mine, including several winters; never leaked and although I have a pair of Keis heated insoles these have rarely been used. Also survived bad accident when I broke my leg badly but boots saved my foot with no damage to them. Would definitely buy again, but reckon these will still last another couple of years.

Klim Boots, warmest thing I Have ever had on my feet.

That sounds good but how do Ad.Spec get to a retail price of £231.95 when the price in the USA is £133.75 at todays exchange rate? Not intended as a bashing session, just would like to know the economics of why the price increases by 73.4%.

+1 BMW Santiago

Daytona GTX good boot warm and dry but only lasted 18 months 40k miles ish started leaking.
Santiago pair 1. 30 months 50k miles ish worn out
Santiago pair 2. 40 months 50k miles ish worn out
Santiago pair 3. 18 months old circa 35k miles so far still going strong.
You find a piece of kit that works and you stick with it.

The steel tip will wear out on the Santiagos pretty quickly so just take them off from the start.
Warm is relative. no boot will keep you warm on long journeys through the winter (but that's why God invented heated insoles).

Hmm,my Santiago boots lasted about two years, probably 20K miles, very comfortable boots with no problems until they let water in big style during a particularly heavy rain storm in Germany. You could actually see the water oozing through the seams as I walked!.
Also the stitching failed on the none leaking boot.
Perhaps I was just unlucky!

nope - just buy the Daytonas. I ve never used a dryer or better made boot!

Daytona`s for me.
They`re warm, waterproof and also comfy to walk around in:thumby:
Plus the boot sole is very "grippy" in damp conditions, well worth considering when you need to stop and put your foot down:eek:
