Good day lads,

I'm looking to upgrade my factory windshield to add a bit of wind protection, specially when riding 2up. For me, with the shield on the highest position, if it's not too windy I'm mostly fine even though my Givi Helmet is very noisy. But the wife really complains whenever we go above 80/100km/h (50/60mph).

I've been looking at options like the MRA X-Creen to extend the original windscreen... does any of you have any experience with these type of extensions? Any to recommend?

Your advise would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Rami

I found the Givi Airflow to be excellent. The looks are not to everyones taste though. :duno

Agreed, I hate the way it looks, but it is so effective and the easy adjustment of the 'top' screen offers flexibility.

Nice one. It's a bit more expensive but I see that's a complete replacement to the OEM windshield. I'll have that option in mind for sure....

And yes, it's not a looker per say but if it does the job it's fair enough.

Cheers!

I like the look of the Give air flow. And it does a great job...:thumb2

I put the x-creen on the GSA last year to stop the buffeting - had no regrets whatsoever! Was on a trip to Germany last week and found it to be excellent in every way :thumb2

+1 for the MRA x-creen, fitted mine a couple of weeks ago and it transformed the ride, zero buffeting upto 'overtaking speed' ;)

Thank you gents, your feedback is much appreciated!

Any of you ride 2up? Any review from the pillions?

As that's my main objective here, I'm fine for the most parts with the original one as I'm not the tallest one, LOL!

Cheers,
Rami

I could not get on with buffeting from the GSA OEM screen. The clip on extender helped but the sweet spot is very narrow and any rain mists the visor - not enough air flow.

I'm happy to have wind in my face but I absolutely hate turbulence knocking my head about. the Givi Airflow isn't perfect but it's 90% better than the OEM screen.

Mrs Oldnfat and I go on long tours around Europe....no complaints. Fair point on rain and the visor not being cleared, a quick change of angle cures this.

This is possible with the Wunderlich and maybe the Varios but not with the TT screen extender. That's either on or off. The Givi screen top slides so I simply loose the lever clips and push it right down. It's no harder than faffing with the speedo trip button.

Cool, thanks for the info. I guess in the rain you could stick your neck to the side for a sec to clear the drops or put rainex for visors yo improve the visibility as well.

I was curious about adjusting the screen on the Givi on the go, obviously they do not recommend it but I figure it couldn't be that difficult.

My 2011 GSA has winglets fitted. Does the Airflow fit with these in place or will they have to be removed?

That's actually a good point, my 08 also has the winglets which do a grand job at keeping the air out of the chest. I don't think the airflow will have any issues with those but would love to have a confirmation!

Cheers lads

If you believe the "experts" a bike should only ever be used with both hands welded to the handlebars at all times. How that fits with hand signals I don't know.

The Givi sliding screen will move about 5 inches from fully down to fully up. but there will be a sweet spot compromise for everyone. I prefer mine about 1.5 inches up from its lowest position. It's easy enough to flick the catches and pull or push the screen. Obviously not at 90 mph with a side winds and HGVs either side but it's no big deal to adjust.
