We had two guys arrive late yesterday, having ridden round in circles looking for our place. Seems they put our postcode into their satnavs and expected to be taken to our door. In Austria one postcode can cover a big area. Ours (9854) covers a stretch of the Malta valley that is 30kms long. The centre point, where the satnav will try to take you, is 5kms up the valley and then 800m up a mountain! Our grid ref is on our website www.hochalmspitze.com so can I suggest that anyone coming here uses that, it will take you right to our door. We also have a Google map showing our exact location.

If you are going anywhere in Austria please don't rely on a postcode or you might end up like our two guys-3 hours late for your beer.

Or France.... or for that matter most other European countries.... The UK is very nearly unique in the detailing of its postal codes.....

Or Italy or Spain as well.
You'll always need street name and house/door number, etc.

Do never rely too much on the sat nav ;)
