If you are off to the USA for a holiday, you will need a 3 month visa waiver which is called an ESTA. It's a very simple process and takes a couple of minutes on line but please beware that you can be screwed royally with the price.
Someone coming on my trip in September went onto an ESTA website and was charged $140.00 for an ESTA whereas the official government charge is $14.00 so that's $126.00 for a few clicks!!! The robbing website is question is here www.estavisaonline.org/Home.aspx. There is plenty of info on there all except the cost which isn't apparent until you are well into the process. It even gives you the opportunity to use the official site but puts enough fear into you to make sure you use them especially if you aren't an experienced traveller.
If any of you are off to the USA at any time, please make sure you use the official website which is https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/ which is the correct place to get your ESTA and do not use anyone else.
I'm bloody furious that the mark up is so huge but you live and learn I guess so beware everyone.
