Big airbag around the bike thingy!

Hi chaps,

My friend says there's these air bag gadget things you can buy to protect your bike when shipping on dodgy freighters. Has anyone heard of them, and if so, can you please provide a link?

I've got to put my GSA on a ferry from Iran and am a bit concerned about the protection it'll get.

Try, if you have one their, the BWM Dealer, they are usually glad to get rid of the original shipping boxes, which are pretty robust.

I'm getting the base from them to make the crate for the outbound shipment, but these things are for the inbound leg and are portable. You inflate them to provide protection against knocks etc (apparently).

Great as long as you cover up your pointy bits....

They're called air bag void fillers or dunnage airbags.

Available pretty well everywhere in road haulage and air shipping locations.
