I'd just like to give a big thankyou to Dirtydog and Mutley for the ride out yesterday. I know Pastyman had a great day and enjoyed his first off road experiance. Flipfly gets best crash of the day as he did a perfect 360 on the mud. Just an ace day and i'm well up for more of the same. Hey arn't GS's good off road, well happy.
Anyway i'll get the photo's on the site tonight. :D

I think you'll find it was a 180 as I ended up pointing where I'd just come from.
Cheers guys, had a brilliant time, got dirty, bikes filthy and had a full breaky to boot!!!!!!
Anyone who hasn't done the off roading bit on their GS is missing just how good these things are. Yep they are heavy, but I was amazed just how good the old girl did.
Absolutely awesome. I wanna go again :thumb2 :thumb2 :thumb2 :thumb2 :thumb2

DDs Lights are the choice of lighting mod and the Mutly/Flipfly diet will keep you going all day. Pastyman did great and he's never done any off road before.

As for you Syco.......................any one who has ridden with you will know what your like :augie Too brave and 2 scotch eggs short off a picnic.

Where are the pics?????????

photos.

so here we are in god knows where, nice view though.

Yup, a great day had by all and I would also like to add my thanks to DD and mutley. I have never been on stuff like this and found the experience fantastic. The pics dont do justice to the scenery though especially in the forrest, I never knew it even existed. anyway got back to Cornwall today, cream crackered and with a filthy bike but well chuffed. Thanks also to Sy and flip, looking forward to Spain now.

I'd love to take some credit but I'm afraid it was all DD's idea and he sorted the route. I was just there to laugh at him falling off :D

Oh, didn't we mention he dropped it :hide

was it a fall or a drop.

I think technically it was a drop, DD was off the bike on the wrong side and it pulled him over, Funny to see though:D. Well i just got the bill for my tyre and sunday cost me £90:blast Well i will go mad on welsh slate, :o oh well i'll just have to be a bit more gental next time otherwise the wife my stop me going out to play.

I'm glad you all had a good day and everyone got home in one piece...:clap

That's a great route for some light off roading, great as an intro into taking the fat bikes off road...:thumb

Jesus those bikes are heavy to pick up...:o

I had a good day, thanks for the great company!

Bridge versus Ford

:hide Thats little section from Claerwen is private, why open the gates for the ford when you can go quietly over the bridge..............:hide
The farmer has a habit of blasting down on his quad bike and getting very agitated...................... yes it's a lovely section of road often done by VFr's and the like on 020's:D

Claerwen

so here we are in god knows where, nice view though.

Next best thing to a motorway you will find in Mid wales.thats where you were with the much travelled Abergwesyn Tregaron road elsewhere, yes the forest is great:D it's all great round there...................do the Cambrian rally in ocotober.....................easy stuff of road:thumb :thumb :Motomartin

The last time he gobbed off, I gave him 'the bird'. He quietly turned away and went back inside......thank-fully not to reach for the 12 gauge...:D

had to keep it easy.

hey, i know it was all a bit gentle but on the basis Pastyman and Flipfly have never ridden off road on their GS's it was wise to get them used to something a little easy. I had a bit of a go on harder stuff out in the forrest and was quite suprised how good the ADV is off road. All this was as a prelude to our trip to Spain later in the year, most of the stuff will be gravel trails down through the middle of spain so it was important for the others to get used to the feel.
I'm sure Flipfly and I will be out on the enduros at some point finding some proper off-roading.
