Hello Pls can i get some advise for a good quality bike 2 bike coms system I have tried a bluetooth system and it was crap.

Get a hold of a copy of this months Ride magazine if you can. They did a test of wired and bluetooth comms and Autocomm came out on top- by a long way.
Also they have a half price sale on now.

I tried an interphone/ blue ant is the same/ and confirm - that's pos. no miracle from BT on different bikes - I was able to hear my wife clearly only at stops, when her bike was just 10 meters away.
The Baehr stuff is really high quality apparently. No reason to avoid it apart from the fact that there is zero support for it here in the UK - and the Autocom support is generally extremely good.

I have been using the interphone system, for the last 18 months and have had no problems at all. Its been used on several 7 day plus trips in all weathers.
Easy to fit and quite often get upto 500metres contact. Under 60 very clear and no interference [as long as visors down on both talker and listener] Over 70 noise is an issue but still works.
If you go out of range it shuts down but its easy to to re-establish contact. one button press. [best mounted on left side of helmet to enable left hand acccess]
If prudent with use and not left in contact mode I have used it for many full days riding. Its limited to bike to 1 bike or 1 pillion, you can't add in additional people buts its a cheap alternative.
If money no object and quality is a priorority, feedback suggests that autocomm with its many additional features is the way to go

The Bluetooth system i have tried is called interphone and basically it works at very short distances and slow speed. They claim that on a full charge these will last 10 hours but they do not last more than four hours. I guess the best way forward will be with a proper radio and kit.

Much as I like the idea of Bluetooth for comms, it saddens me to say, wires do usualy work very well
I used Interphone on our trip from South Africa to Kenya- 12 days-6,100 kms and it was just the Dog's danglies!
Crystal clear reception in towns and on open roads. Battery lasted for about 4+ hrs of fairly constant chat and coverage was easily up to 2-300 mtrs - depending on the terrain. Would have liked longer battery life but that may have been a function of the wind noise around the helmets (Shoei Hornets)keeping the mic "open".
Easy to recharge on the bike's system as we rode along via the 12v plug into the Dakar's socket.
Would like to be able to add an extra bike in to the system - for future rides- as it only takes two headsets, but on the whole it was perfect for what we needed.

Have a look at biketobike.co.uk, they offer a good range, are reasonable and helpful. Although living in NZ, I found ours and Aussies prices high so bought a set when last in Uk
