Got on the bike this AM , turned key, a whirl sound then nothing. No display
on the dash. Hmm... I was really peed off and more...only used the bike last week-end. Called bmw assist, arrived an hour later,
Battery shot-up, replaced with new, now all OK.

He advised to have the battery trickle charger in when I not going to use the bike for over a week. Interesting.... I have no alarm, to drain the battery, I have had no issues with it for over a year, when left in the garage for upto 3 weeks .

O'h well , doors to manual I suppose, the bike will be tickled from now on, when I am going to not use it for a week or more.

You must be tickled pink with your decision to trickle charge your motorcycle when garaged and not in regular use.

Thank you for sharing.

It's nice to share, so what's the damage on the trickle-charger & leads (if needed).

In the time it took you to type that, you could have taken a leaf out of Cookie's book and asked Amazon or Google....

Just in case you have not troubled yourself. About £30 /£35 for an Optimate or cheaper for an alternative....

Cue... "What charger should I buy?" thread...

Cue, Cookie (and the big ginger tosser) : "They are the invention of the devil"

Cue, assorted others: "Ride the bloody thing.... you'll not need a charger"

Buy an Otimate.

Go in peace.
