Bike Cover Advice

I do not have one my self but was looking at this company just this morning, might be of use to you....

I keep my bikes outside in all weathers, and so far have not found the perfect cover, so good luck
The only good pointers I can give is to use plenty of FS365 or ACF50, don't put the cover on when the bike is hot and wet, the steam created allows the bikes electrics to stew, not good!
The oxford light weight breathable hi tec paper one was good, very light packed small but froze to the bike a few times and it was destroyed in just a few cold mornings.
I'm using an oxford camo pattern one at the moment that seems OK with a centre strap and security holes, i'd have prefered a green and brown finish rather than the white grey.
I also have a heavy weight BMW cover its OK but its not breathable and is quite bulky and has BMW printed on it

I've been wondering about this too, now the weather's getting a bit worse... is it that bad for it to just be left out in the open, though?
Th erouble with using a cover is that unless the bike is dry, it actually makes the situation worse. The cover traps moisture, no matter how "breathable" the manufacturers claim it is. This then encourages the corrosion. I now leave mine out in all weathers and they do not seem to corrode half as much as they did when they were covered, even when they had S-Doc100 applied.
Our Elise went mouldy after a winter in a tight fitting breathable cover, it now has a big floppy cpver, that only goes back on when it is dry; and comes off for those warmer dry winter days - i.e. once or twice during the season
Gnerally in winter months we get home tired, in the dark, cold and damp. All I wan to do after I get hom from work is get the bike parked, locked down and get indoors for a hot drink, or beer or both.
The ideal answer is to drive the bike into a nice roomy well ventilated garage, allow it dry then place the cover over it. Or, only take teh cover off when it is dry and there is no chance of a drenching
'Course if one had a garage then why would one need a cover ...

Perhaps a tarp would be better? Spaced away from the bike but protective enough to keep drips and pidgeons off?
I think the farm cat might like the extra comfort though

Ironically my bike cover (Motrax breathable jobbie) only really gets used in the warmer months as it keeps the local kids from jumping all over it. Your probably better off investing in getting the bike ACFed and leaving out in the elements through the winter.
I am using the GSA cover,its only used when i go traveling,it will fit the 800 and panniers.
Not sure what you mean by lined,this one has a reflective silverfoil inside.
So far two years of abuse and apart from putting it on a hot exhaust its done ok,it packs fairly small to the size it fits into 10 litre bag.
Down side to it,it has BMW written across the centre,i washed it in black dye and it seemed to fade it away enough.
For me the idea is to keep prying eyes away not tell evryone there is a BMW in their!!!!!!!!!!!!!
