hi i've just purchased my first gs! a 1200gs in rock red!! and having got it home it doesn't fit into my garage along side my classic car! so i'm after a good sturdy cover to leave it outside!! can anybody recomend one/have one for sale?

all help appreciated!
Andy

Hi there Andy,
I asked the same question and got some helpful answers (use the search function :thumb), but in the end mine (early 06 plate 1200GS) has lived outside without a cover (but with a ground anchor, large lock and chain) and bike appears to have suffered no ill effects. Starts on the button every morning, no obvious corrosion (at least not as a result of it living outside :o).
HTH,

would love to put the car outside but it's a 1968 beetle convertable! whereas the bike is gonna be used all the time!! or maybe i should sell the car to fund a big trip?! decision decisions!

Spooky... my 1200GS lives outside so my 1967 Beetle can live 'indoors'.
Small world eh!!!
Dave.

http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=500087 - don't let the low price put you off, it's a good product. Only criticism is the weak under bike strap. I simply used a couple of 50p bungee cords across the rear.

I used one for the 2 years at my last address. Now have a nice garage for the bike.

Seconded and thirded - these are really great covers.

I've only had the luxury of a garage for the past four years and prior to that all my bikes lived under these covers outside.

I still use one as a 'dust cover' for my GS inside the garage.

I think these are 'ok' - but not really up to more than a years worth of use and the strap will eventually break. The cost sums it up! - aren't they really supposed to be used as internal dust covers?

If you want to use it a storm protection - pay a few quid more and get an Oxford......? at (and other places!) (£11k bike v £70 cover or a £10k garage extension!!)

Yep me too :thumb2 I've been using these for the last Severn years. Wouldn't recommend any other cover. As well as keeping the worst of the weather out they are well vented so no rusty chrome or bolt heads etc that you tend to get from the so say waterproof covers (that might keep out the rain, but they also keep in the moisture)

The only other sensible thing is the 'Bike Barn' a portable garage. Do a google or e-bay search.
