Now no stupid answers guys. I've lost, well going to lose my garage (a friends) so going to have to get some kind of more than lidl / aldi type of cover. I'm sure someone must have got a super deluxe luxury type that they could let me know the make of and supplier. My little steed is 10year old so I'm not too bothered about scratches etc. Tried a friends but it doesn't cover fully because of the panniers. Looking at some of the illustrations in some old mags most seem very flimsy.

Whatever you do don't get BMW's own cover for the GS.

I'm on my second one in ten years.
The current one is only four years old and already beginning to fade. The stitching is also beginning to go where the cover is stretched over the top box carrier.

The older one went in the same place and, while a bit of duct tape fixes the problem it looks less than pristine, let's the side down somewhat, so I only use it if parked up outside work.

Seriously though, expensive but top quality. Recommended!

Oxford Stormex

Just chucked one away after 6 years outdoor use.
The recent wet spell rotted it.
A medium will be a tight fit,a large one will drag on the ground.

Extra-large is the one I use on my LC GS when it it outside.

Wunderlich :thumb

They do a heavy duty one, five year guarantee, and mine is now five or six years old and still going strong, no cracking or deterioration whatsoever :thumb

Use a soft cover underneath it ... no scratching at all. My 800GS sleeps outside, five winters, 104,000 miles and still as good as new :D

I use an Oxford one, and it has lasted two years of use with no problems. It fits over my panniers and extended screen, but I do fasten a length of elastic around the panniers when the cover is on to stop it flapping around and setting off my security lights! Cant remember the name, but the bag has "OF926 -XL" printed on it, if that helps.

Thanks guys I like the look of the R&G one will probably go that route, bit pricy but you gets what you pay for. The cheapy stuff is nono just plastic bags!

One idea

Once you have your bike cover, splash a load of paint and cr*p over it so it looks minging.

Best security there is IMHO

I purchased the above cover, but not sure if its a bit small? Surely it should cover the bike completely rather than leaving the rear wheel exposed?

I am guessing it wasn't designed to be used with a top box
Still if it doesn't show your arse it's big enough
