Noticed this morning. I put the bike on the side stand after wheeling it out of the garage. Started ok and then started to cut out intermittently and would start again ok. I did notice every time it cut out the N for neutral light would flicker off and then come on again. I figured that being on the side stand the bike thought it was going into gear and hence killed itself. Needless to say I wasn't near the gear lever. What's up ? Is this a known issue ? Must be a loose sensor somewhere.

Throttle bodies could do with a balance perhaps?

I've not heard of the Neutral light flicker, but just put it up on the centre stand and try again.

The gear position indicator plays up on mine if it's been stood a while or if it's cold, so if it decides it's not in neutral on the sidestand it'll cut the engine.
Generally sorts itself out after a decent run....and I believe it's fairly simple to give the switch a clean.....It's on the back of the gearbox, in front of the swing-arm and is held in by 2 bolts.

Try putting the bike on the centre stand and seeing if you get the same problem.
The outcome of this simple diagnosis will give everyone a clue where the problem could be and where to look next.

Flickering neutral light will stop the engine if the side stand is down or the catch switch is faulty.
Check the stand and gearbox potentiometers and clutch lever switch.

Intermittent cut out

OK I put the bike on the main stand and started it. Left it idling and the neutral light started to flicker intermittently obviously as the side stand was not down it did not cut out. I deduct it must be the gear indicator unit so.

It could just be the multi plug from the gear indicator needs cleaning. It's quite near to the gear indicator potentiometer on the rear of the gearbox (just in front of the rear swing arm)

Remove the neutral switch and leave it on a radiator for a few hours.
