Hi all
Just been out and about and when I arrived at Hawes in the car park the bike( 1150 GSA on a 02 plate) faded out, when I tried to restart RID was on but the petrol pump did not prime and the guage was on empty. After a fiddle about I found that the quick connector on the balance pipe over the engine was loose and came apart.after pushing it back together the bike primed, RID showed 3/4 full and started, sorted I thought after a brew I set off home and stopped off at The Trough of bowland for a brew when I pulled up at the curbside the same as before happened the bike just faded away.So I did the same again with the fuel lines but nothing happened this time ,but after a chat with someother bikers I turned on the IGN and the pump primed and it started.I have just got home with no other incidents and expected the bike to do the same when I pulled on to my drive but it did not.
The only other thing is, some times there is a smell of petrol when I stop at a junction.
Any ideas??

The link pipe will have no effect whatsoever on the pump priming. It may have primed due to you disturbing the tank plug wiring or connector.

I tried not to touch the wires, but this will not have made it stop as it did on 2 occasions or would it:nenau

check the fuel tank connector (electrical) mine had gone green on one connector and once cleaned problem went.

check ignation wiring

Hd some thing similair happen to me once on a 1150.. Check the back of the igition barrel for a frayed cable which can lead to a intermittint fault... worth a try

Have a check of the battery connections for tightness ;)

Thanks all for the responce's, Battery connections ok. Wiring connector attached to frame was a tad green inside when I opened it up so cleaned and greased and reassembled and so far so good.:beerjug:
Thanks again
