HI all, riding yesterday doing 70imph sh , medium-high revs, bike cuts out , NO BRAKES(at 70mph) no info or warning lights on display, its was like Id taken the key out of igntion, coasted to a stop, switched key to off postion then back to on and bike started and ran normally rest of day, has this happened to anybody else? I was lucky really, If id needed to stop at that point I couldnt! makes u wonder!

BMW dealer plugged in compter only a "cam senser" fault was listed but not active.

Err! yes... Was doing similar.. bike died... display went off... coasted to a stop.. thinking BMW Assist... then noticed that the key had turned its self off enough to stop bike.. this i think was due to having another two keys + fob flapping about... in an awkward position

When I discovered it.. I turned it all the way off.. then back on... then restarted the bike....

Not a glitch since!!!... and still have other two keys + fob attached.. Only difference is.. i make sure they're not caught at an awkward angle when I pop the ignition key in :thumb

Much the same problem taking avoiding action when I had overcooked it a bit. No difficulty before or since then so I am left wondering whether there is a fault of if I had brushed the kill switch etc. In my case the bike returned to normal before stopping. :rob

"Rev-limiter" perhaps!??

yes, same thing happened to my on my 1st 12GS, rush hour in London, twice, middle of winter

Not amusing.

Replaced ignition barrel under warranty, problem did not reoccur .(gearbox fell apart though)

Good job you weren't in the middle of nowhere

Toooooo complicated :(

No - the overcooking bit wasnt so much too fast as too wide on a left hand bend, and an oncoming car clipping the apex.

More likely it was finger trouble! Unless there is a lean angle cut out and it was malfunctioning. Is there one?
