Hi All

Myself and 3 mates are heading down to Munich in mid April.
Anyone have any info on bike friendly places to stay or of property previously used.

All assistance greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Norm

Can you please explain this bike friendly bollox ?
As your steed is a lump of metal , does it matter if the hotel staff are a tad off in front of your Twipple Cack ?
I’d be more concerned with finding a place that has nice rooms, service and a good location with off-road parking . Obvious friendly offroad parking so as not to upset the steed

This place is pretty cool, I was there a couple of weeks ago, ideally situated for BMW Welt & Dachau

the hotel is actually inside a huge hangar full of super cars, bikes and other stuff, your window looks down onto the cars

they have underground parking

What if the cars gang up on the bikes ?

Everyone in mainland Europe is friendly towards motorcyclists, which is possibly different to attitudes of many people in the UK. I have to say though some of the British motorcyclists who stayed with us when we ran holiday accommodation would have tested even the most affable locals patience

Exactly .
I really don’t get this bike friendly nonsense but if any is recommended on here I actively try and avoid it . You just know it’ll be full of fat tossers wearing sandals and heading out in search of steak and FRITZ ( shouted very loudly ) for t’tea. Eh up

I’ve regularly stayed at the Hotel Central in Dachau which has underground parking and is a stones throw from the S Bahn stop so central Munich is an easy visit (20 mins) - it’s also a few doors up from the City pub affectionately known as the Alsopps arms - if you’ve never been to the city pub in Dachau then you’ve never lived (assuming it’s still there)

You can get a really good Bavarian meal at the Hotel Fischer which would be my preferred option but parking is outside, saying that crime is very low so as long as you take the usual precautions you’ll be fine.

I got bored after that.

Come on, there are four of you. Nobody knows you, better than you and your three mates. Why not have a go at doing it yourself, not least as I guess you have found accommodation for the way down and back?

There are links to ‘biker friendly’ accommodation in the German section. Google: Biker friendly hotel Munich and see what pops up. Then chose one between the four of you. Then, when you come back, tell the forum what a brilliant time you have had and where you stayed.

Don’t though limit yourself to ‘Bike friendly’, whatever that means. Nobody, unless you and / or your mates are an arse, will throw stones at you or stick their tongue out behind your back. Munich and Germany is stacked full of expensive cars, they park them at hotels; your bike(s) will not be at any particular risk, beyond the normal.

Your turn now.

Fuck knows how we survived a night in the wilds of Chile without making sure it was Bikermatesecurebutterinfridgefriendly !!!

First of all, I'm a quite well travelled biker. 30k miles around Europe in the last 3/4 years.

Perhaps I should have rephrased the question to something like..

Anyone know of any good places to stay that are in and around Munich.

As far as the replies from some of you are concerned you can go fuck yourself.

Appreciate the time you took to find and reply.

I've been on the forum for a long enough time but seldom ever ask questions as I'm all too well aware there are some who just like the sound of their own voice. Nonetheless, some have happily assisted, some haven't. Thanks to those who have. As this is a GS forum, where people travel, there is no doubt a lot of accumulated knowledge that I was trying to tap into, specifically the Munich area, hence the question ill phrased for some.
The info received has been helpful, thank you once gain to those who took time to assist.

Three sites (not Munich specific) which might be useful for other towns / cities.

Are All the cars owned by people staying there or it it some sort of upmarket storage place, with a hotel attached?

It’s a bit of a mix

A lot of the cars are privately owned and use it as upmarket storage as you say, I guess they get some kind of good deal as their cars are a large part of the attraction, I watched a guy getting his Ferrari out, it was quite reluctant to start :D
There are other cars in the underground parking too and it seems they swap stuff around

There are also dealers in there, at least one McLaren and I don’t know what else, quite possibly multi mark, I saw at least one workshop, the McLaren shop I think

There are some touring car or rally type stuff and a couple of F1 cars about, There are also a few bikes in there and a triumph dealership

If you have a flash car they have rooms with a car lift so that you can look at your car all night :nenau I didn’t need that

It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Munich whether you stay there or not and the hotel is not too expensive so makes an interesting place to stay

I did this a couple of years ago
