Thinking of getting a bike lift and the only one I have room for is one of the small Sealey MC480 ones (something like the photos below).

Anyone have one of these and how do they find lifting the GS or GSA with it? Do you strap the bike down when it's on the lift?

Some photos of your bike mounted on one would be great.

Any help ? Oxford products.

The home made secondary spacer was made up for a bit of extra height.

Is that the same as the Sealey but half the price?

NO !!! ;)
as the picture shows.
an addition to allow the wheels to turn/come off when on the sealey lift
great bit of kit.:thumb

So what the conclusion then

Sealey 365 = £250 to £275 PLUS the Bike jack off EBay for £50

I use a £35 jack I bought at Makro some time ago excellent value and very strong, even holds my Triumph Rocket 3 as seen in this pic...

Tony that is a nice web site that you have and a good thing that you are doing - I am sure that they all have a good time

Good luck to you both

I've been thinking of buying a bike lift for awhile now, and after following this post decided to take the plunge.
I ordered one from - 'The Tool Den' in Cardigan. They took my order and my money on 26-11-09, and despite numerous e-mails & phone calls (which goes straight to an answerphone) that's the last I have heard. Have now placed it 'in dispute' with my credit card company.

Be warned!

I use bikelift works fine. I have different attachments to fit the various bikes in my garage. I also have one of their bike grabs, which helps using the lift if you are on your own.

I got one of these from machine mart for the 800gs, because of the long travel suspension, the wheels didn't come off the ground!, then after packing the top with blocks of wood to give it extra height, the bike lifted okay, but felt very nose heavy on the stand- so it went back. still got the credit note, but cant quite run to the full lift yet.......

After an unexplained delay, my Sealey 365 has arrived from Tool-den, - so panic over. It sure is worrying though when internet shopping appears to have gone wrong. The sealey is a reasonable piece of kit for the money, but will be used mainly for my classics and no so much for the GS
