Hi,

Three of us in Dublin soon, staying at the Premier Inn on Stephen St. Lower.

Any suggestions on bike parking overnight nearby, please?

Or a hotel near there (Temple Bar) with parking?

Many thanks all,

A

Here’s a selection quite close to you :

I’ve parked in them all in a car but I’m not in the habit of going into Dublin on the bike & parking so no idea how safe they are
I certainly wouldn’t be leaving them on the street…..

Have you tried contacting the hotel and see what they might suggest?

Thanks everyone.

We’ve changed hotel to one with “secure parking”. Not sure which as another member of the group did it.

It's half the price too!

Good one but still throw a lock or two on the bikes.

It was the Hilton on Charlemont Place. Nice and safe, well out of sight.

Had to argue with management that 3 bikes in one space should be charged the same as 1 car in 1 space: they “relented” so only 1 x €20!

Thanks for the advice all.

I’m staying at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre, Marlborough Place, Rotunda, Dublin,

Anyone know of anything other than the Q-Park The Spire, located on Cathal Brugha Street. They want €230 for 6 days which is as expensive as hotel.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Mark

Sorry my only suggestion is do not park there. I work from Paddywagons office just around the corner. Stuff disappears from busses if you turn your back for a minute. Especially your tips. They will jump on and off the bus with your tip jar before the door is fully open. Lots of “scrambler” bikes round there. If you were spotted going in by the wrong people I’d give 3 minutes before it disappears. I don’t bring my own bike into the city. JJH

I second JJ's response. If you can change hotel out to the outskirts, for instance pick a hotel close to the green line Luas for access to the city centre. Stay out of the City Centre especially if your mode of transport is a motorbike

Bike theft in Dublin is worse than other cities. Our Gardaí are not allowed to “engage” with scrotes on stolen bikes, so they can’t chase. JJH is correct about that neighbourhood.

Stay around Ranelagh, the north inner city is not recommended for on street parking.
