Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced bike shed / garage supplier?
My youngest son has just passed his test (good lad) and despite recommendations (to buy a 650 BMW) has bought himself a Yamaha Thundercat. Now I must admit, its a lovely bike, and was VERY reasonably priced, but, the poor lad doesn't have a garage / shed yet so at present he's keeping it in my garage (as if I'd use it....mwahahahah), and has to commute roughly 40miles just to see it!!
We've looked at the usual Bike sheds but aren't they damned pricey???? (nearly the same price as the bike!!), so because we have not won the lottery this week, he is looking at metal sheds. Anyone have any advice / experience please?

Why a metal metal shed? Prone to condensation I would have thought. Or is it metal for security? due to it not being in a secure place.

Thanks for the prompt replies folks.
Eliminator: metal shed mainly for the security. It is going to be very visible from the main road, and I thought it would be more secure / fire resistant.

Dirtydog: Thanks for the warnings.

Mmmmm do you really consider wood to be the better option? Never thought about condensation issue, was more worried about the fire / security issue.

Any more views please???

Try Here

No first-hand experience myself but I've been tempted.

Thanks Mike / CC.
Mike, seen these "sheds" and they look excellent, but are unfortunatley out of the range of my lad's pocket (and I'm skint...got a GS see!!)
CC, Den's den is a gem, but dem dens are damn den-built, and dats no damn good.....errrr??!! Thanks for the reminder though, enjoyed the memories.

Keep away from steel sheds, I have a Yardmaster and it's a pile of shite. It took me 2 years to put it together, it leaks and the condensation is a joke!

Get a wooden one and stick a ground anchor/safe rack or the likes down.

I've got a Yardmaster and have found it rather good. OK, the 2-day erection process was a tad tiresome but as a secure garden shed it's not bad. It's also got no windows for oiks to look in through due to the light panels in the roof and its always seems dry in there. Mind you, the highest tech thing in it is the lawnmower.

As for putting a bike in there? Dunno, might be a bit too much condensation...............................

Your so kind ronno

This 'Construction' will no doubt end up with a "Blue Plaque" being placed upon it by some in-dignitary in the future as a tribute to oor Den.... :thumb
