I thought that was a bit odd, why would a bunch of bikers want to watch an amateur modelling competition? A jelly wrestling competition yes, bikini mud wrestling yes, wet t-shirt competition yes but modelling :eek

Wouldn't miss it for the world, there's always lots of bargains to be had.............

at the last couple of shows I've got, a super ceramic tile cutter, a kitchen knife sharpener, a non-stick frying pan, a magic feathered duster, vegetable cutters and a very useful multi-purpose gadget thingy.:blast

So if it's a bike show your looking for go to the NEC Birmingham:thumb2

A Brian sure its always great craic meeting a few lads for a spin up Sunday anyway it's a destination for a spin anyway

Have to agree.. its usually a complete load of cock as far as bike shows go but occasionally you can be lucky.

I'm on the hunt for a new pair of leather trousers and have been ordered out of the gaff by 'ozziesma' and told to bring the little lad (3 1/2) with me so im probably gonna head down Friday afternoon.

If its pure shite, I'll let you all know before you waste 15 quid of your hard earned !!:thumb

Probably go Friday evening alright. Been promised a ticket :augie

I know it's not the NEC but it's an excuse to kick tyres & talk sh1te :D

I will be there sometime on Sunday.

Joe Duffy are going to be at the Carol Nash stand with the new LC for those who haven't seen it.

9am Sat morn at JD to get fuel strip No: 4
a break from looking at the yellow triangle.
other than that the bike has been perfection.
i will be at the RDS 10 to 11 am Sunday.

Went to the show today and as usual I was not that impressed.
In the words of Jim Diamond , I should have known better :blast:blast:blast

To justify my visit, I picked up a hoodie and 2 polo shirts and entered a few competitions. I got a look at the new 1200GS LC and eyed up the British, Italian and Japanese competition too. Is it just me or are all these bikes getting very similar looking?!!

The highlight of my visit was being at the Honda stand and getting to hear the deafening roar of the Mike Hailwood 350cc 6 cylinder race bike (RC174). Calling this bike loud is an absolute understatement :D!!!!! I'm not messing either - http://s1101.beta.photobucket.com/user/ozziesda/media/20130301_160920.mp4.html

I was in the market for a new set of leather or textile bike trousers but didn't find any great value other than the cheapy crap they usually try to shift :blast.

I was really after a set of Dainese trousers as I've had the last pair for about 3 or 4 years without letting a drop of rain in, but couldn't find a stand stocking them anywhere

Anyway, Unless you have time to kill and €15 to waste, I wouldn't bother going. Put €15 of fuel in your tank and enjoy an afternoon out riding instead!!

Enjoyed the walk around the RDS on a freebie.
I am told that the GS LC on display is a production model and therefore is as one might get on purchase, and the two GS bikes on display will be registered by BMW in the next few days. The models on display in Milan or as would have been seen at the NEC/London/Belfast were apparently pre-production models.(I didn't notice)
After meeting a few people and buying some notionally essential bits and pieces went for a nice bite to eat with Jaws100 and his lovely wife.
Delighted to see moto guzzi and aprilla represented, although the prices were in some currency I didn't recognize.:augie
No Mattie Griffin which is a shame but despite that it is a nice way to pass away a few hours and do just as Jockser suggests!
As for the noise from Mike Haillwood's Honda, my God!!!!!, or should that be O.M.G.!

Went yesterday on freebie tickets (courtesy of irishbikerforum.com). Glad I didn't pay in. Grumpiest stand person has to be the NYPD guy. Try him out. My mate tried to get a price on a "new" bike from one of the BMW stand people, he is serious about buying but the salesperson did nothing but smile and joke.... Never offered aprice despite being offered several chances. But I did book my bike to go to malaga in April with Overlanders and my mate Brian. Wuhoooooo. Cant wait.
